Piper Works was founded by Jessica Burgess on the belief that considered architecture relies on critical engagement, strong leadership, and a well-structured approach to design and project realisation.

South African trained, Jessica brings over ten years of experience across residential and commercial sectors. Her early career focused on residential projects, where she built a strong foundation in the design of large-scale luxury residences.

In 2019, Jessica relocated to the UK, expanding her experience within a design and build practice specialising in retail and hospitality in prominent inner-city locations.

During this time, she gained a detailed understanding of regulatory frameworks, project coordination, and the realities of construction in the UK.

Returning her focus to residential architecture, Jessica specialises in complete home transformations, with particular experience in reconfiguring and extending London terraced houses. Her work is grounded in making the most of constrained spaces while responding carefully to context and the demands of daily life.

Jessica holds full registrations with the ARB and RIBA, the UK’s principal professional bodies for architecture, as well as the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
