I started Kate Lowndes Interiors to build a studio that feels personal - where thoughtful design, technical detail and creativity come together to create spaces that truly reflect the people, place and context they belong to.

I spent eight years building my career in luxury hospitality design at a studio in Johannesburg, learning from some of the best in the design and hospitality worlds along the way - and picking up a healthy obsession with the detail in an Excel line item as well as the piping on a piece of custom furniture.

I am a blend of an A-Type, schedule-loving Project Manager at heart, and a collector with a curator’s eye, who loves choosing fabrics and rescuing the antique everyone else thinks should be thrown out. Two very different instincts - but I trust that together, they're what create a beautiful, considered space for clients.

I want to design the space you can't wait to come home to, and the one you'll travel miles back for - a space that deepens your connection to wherever you find yourself.
